Is TP-Link AC1350 Archer C60 is on your top list of next-to-buy routers? If it is, then it is best that you first should know what this router can do. See if it is the right one to handle all your online activities such as social media and content sharing. Make sure that this router is as good as it says on paper. Just because it says it can do this and that does not mean it is always what they say it is.
To make things easier for you and help you decide if you should buy this one, we will tell you all the things we noticed and we observed when we used the TP-Link AC1350 Archer C60 for one good whole month. Don’t worry. We will hold no bars and will go full honest review so you will get the closest real-life scenario and result.
- Fast WiFi speed of up to 1.35Gbps.
- Better internet coverage thanks to its multidirectional antennas.
- Supports dual-band frequency: 2.4GHz and 5GHz so you will still get WiFi connection wherever you are inside the house.
- Comes with a mobile app to control your WiFi in the palm of your hand.
- You can login to your wireless router at 192.168.l.l.
- Supports 3×3 MIMO for multiple tasks that come and go at once. This is best for multimedia streaming while doing other online stuff.
- The parental control feature can help you protect your children from malicious sites online. You can block any URL, and see what they access when they are holding their devices.
- Guest network for letting other people connect to your internet while protecting your privacy at the same time.
- Easy setup and management. In fact, the app itself serves as an all-around management tool for the router.
It has great coverage and that is not an exaggeration. It can actually deliver a smooth flow of data wherever you are inside the house despite the number of obstructions the signal has to travel through.
The mobile app is really helpful with network management. You can easily access the web UI and all the router features from the app itself without having to touch your laptop or PC. All is ready in the palm of your hand.
The parental control is really something most parents would consider a must-have especially when they have a child’s device connected to the network. This will prevent any accidental access to inappropriate sites and content.
The overall physical design is quite frankly a bit bulky but all in all looking good. It just needs some getting used to. Plus a good place where it can stay fixed. You can’t just place it somewhere as this router is easy to trample due to its antennas that look like tentacles or horns. But it is a design that I can live with. You just have to consider the placement properly.
And then there is the price. Did you know that the TP-Link AC1350 Archer C60 cost only around $60 at the time that this article is written? So if that is not such a steal, I don’t know what else is. Or perhaps a free router?
Let’s point out the first noticeable bad about the TP-Link AC1350 Archer C60. This device does not have a USB port support. That means no network sharing of multimedia from the router itself. If you want to do that, you will have to set your Windows machine to do the sharing and will have to stay on for the rest of the year.
This router also does not support third-party firmware. So what you bought is what you get. There is nothing more to it. So try not to attempt any firmware replacement and coding that is not sure to work with this model. The software is locked down so you will have to endure whatever feature it already comes with.
This is a minor issue but I think it is something that should be mentioned. The router comes with a touch panel as a button for native control. So if you place this device in a dark room or poorly lit areas, you will be having a bit of a hard time with pressing the right button. But like I said, it is only a minor issue. If you place it in a fairly lit area then it should not be a problem at all.
Also, the local area network which makes all your local devices connected is a bit on the slow end. It could be our devices’ fault but I highly doubt it as we are all using flagship smartphones. So it’s not certain but I’m guessing that it’s a weakness from the router itself.
If you are looking for an affordable yet not a cheap build and performing router, I would highly suggest and recommend this device. The TP-Link AC1350 Archer C60 is a router for demanding users on a budget. It’s hardly a choice that you will regret if we are to base other reviews surrounding this device.
But if you are somewhat on the hardcore side of users, I don’t think you will love this router. In fact, you might have a lot of qualms toward this device. It is far from perfect but a little closer to being a great home router.
So if you are not so picky and just want something that delivers all the basic needs of an online user, then you should consider getting one of these. After all, how much could you lose from this choice? If anything, you will have more gains after some time.
